Tune in every Monday from noon to 1pm EST on WPFW, 89.3 FM in Washington, DC for my blues music show. I present all styles and eras of blues music, from the 1920’s to last week’s newest releases. Some shows have themes throughout, and typically I will start with one or more musicians who have birthdays during the upcoming week, some new releases, possibly artists coming to town during the week, one or more locally-based artists, and possibly also just some great blues songs I want to share with the listeners.
This Monday June 8, I’m going to interview Mike Tash of the band Bad Influence around 12:20 pm, whose band is being inducted into the Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame on June 28. I’ll also be playing a couple Howlin’ Wolf songs, Tedeschi Trucks Band, early material from Bad Influence (dating to 1996), and new material from Young Rell (only 19 years old), Sauce Boss, Dave Keller & Johnny Rawls, Nicky T and the Snake Charmers, and Mike Zito time-permitting.
