The Boneshakers- Hosted by Mark Segraves

Saturday, September 19th
4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Get ready to hang out behind the scenes with The Boneshakers for a one of kind afternoon of stories and music featuring new acoustic songs from their upcoming album, “Pull Up the Roots,” alongside some of their electrifying classics.

Join NBC4 journalist Mark Segraves as host for an afternoon of incredible music and true stories from the road.

The Boneshakers—featuring guitar legend Randy Jacobs and powerhouse vocalist Jenny Langer—bring their signature blend of blues-infused funk to Backstage at The Sanctuary for an unforgettable afternoon of music and storytelling. Audiences can expect tales from the road, the recording studio, and everywhere in between.

Based in Nashville currently, The Boneshakers have been touring worldwide since 1998, anchored by world-class guitarist Randy Jacobs. Jacobs is the co-writer of Was (Not Was)’s iconic hit “Walk the Dinosaur” and has performed as a sideman for an impressive roster of superstars, including Bob Dylan, Elton John, Bootsy Collins, Iggy Pop, B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, and Stevie Wonder.

This performance also marks a homecoming for Jenny Langer and Holly Montgomery, both of whom once called the DC area home before joining The Boneshakers on the road. Montgomery remains a mainstay in the DC music scene and is also a member of the California-based, post-cowpunk band Mustangs of the West. Langer, a dynamic vocalist inducted into the Virginia Blues Hall of Fame at just 28, has performed with local sax legend Ron Holloway, led Moonshine Society for years, and produces the “Sticky Fingers” show—a women’s tribute to the Rolling Stones.
